Montbel Arbre is open to new residents!
This page is for those who feel the call to participate in the co-creation of a living, transformative, and joyful collective project.
If you’re here, we assume you’ve already read through our entire website, but… just in case… :
Who Are We Looking For?
We’d like to welcome people who are:
- Committed to the collective: Ready to personally invest in making Montbel Arbre a success.
- On an inner journey: Already advanced in self-awareness and personal responsibility.
- Open and honest: Able to communicate authentically (and with tact).
- Financially stable.
- Sociable and enthusiastic: Love to celebrate, nurture connections, and organize shared moments.
After wonderful encounters with the wild residents of the place (roe deer, birds, badgers, wild boar, lizards, snakes…), we do not accept dogs or cats. This aligns with our intention to protect the local biodiversity.
The site is strictly non-smoking.

How to Join Us?
- First Contact
- Read our website thoroughly to understand our vision, values, and way of life.
- Send us a message using the form at the bottom of the page.
- Then, a video call (30 to 45 minutes) to see if we both want to take the next step! We’ll also discuss the details of a possible discovery stay.
2. Discovery – 2 weeks to 3 months (consecutive or not)
A period of communal living in the big house, where we’ll share meals, collective activities, and dedicated time to discuss topics that help us decide if we want to continue the adventure together.
3. Integration – 1 year
Settling in and observing: Finding your place, freely participating in projects, and observing the governance.
Active participation: Gradually joining in collective decision-making, engaging in governance, and contributing to the evolution of the place.
The governance model we use here is inspired by sociocracy: roles in which we each have a responsibility and defined authority with clear limits. Important collective decisions are made by consent. We are fortunate to be supported by the Coopérative Oasis, which guides us on governance, restorative systems, and many other exciting topics!
